A pedestrian accident in Jacksonville has claimed the life of a Brunswick, Georgia resident. Harold Martin left his vehicle that apparently broke down on Interstate 95 near the Emerson Street exit. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Martin attempted to cross the north bound lanes of Interstate 95 when a 2011 Mercedes C300 struck Martin. The accident occurred around 9:30 p.m. Martin died at the scene. We are saddened by the number of pedestrian accidents in our area. The victims include children walking to their bus stop, elderly attempting to cross the street, several have been hit-and-run situations and this latest victim was apparently attempting to get help after his vehicle broke down.
